CONTACT/DIRECTIONS
Come by and take a look………..
Havenwood Retreat is located about an hour and a half southeast of Sacramento in California’s gold country near Jackson in Amador County. The original owners, Jeannine and Vic Beltz built the current Havenwood Retreat in 1987 to look like an old Victorian, both inside and out; hence you get to experience both modern conveniences with historical charm! They operated the property as the Wedgewood Inn Bed and Breakfast until 2005 and it was listed in the top ten best B&Bs in the nation! Four generations of Beltz’s family heirlooms give warmth to each room, and their personal hobbies are evident throughout the inn, such as Jeannine’s Victorian lampshades and needlecraft and Vic’s stained glass.
Jerry Calhoun, and Barb and Wade Cockburn purchased the property in 2015 after it sat vacant for ten years and have meticulously brought the property back to its original grandeur. Jerry and her daughters Tammy and Tracy live at Havenwood Retreat full time. Other residents are the “queen” of Havenwood Retreat, TJ, a black and white miniature Australian Shepherd and her “prince,” Billy. We also have one house cat named Whiskers, and several chickens. Please feel free to call and make an appointment to see Havenwood Retreat and learn how it might fit into your future retreat needs!
From Stockton, take CA-88 E to Jackson and at the forth traffic signal, turn left, staying on CA-88 E to Pine Grove and Lake Tahoe.
From Sacramento, drive east on US-50 E, take CA-16 E to Jackson (also CA-49 S just before Jackson). CA-16 E ends at CA-88 E, make a left on CA-88 E and at the third traffic signal, turn left, staying on CA-88 E to Pine Grove and Lake Tahoe.
After the turn in Jackson, drive about 7 miles to Clinton Rd./Irishtown Rd. (DO NOT take the W. Clinton Road!), turning right. Immediately turn right again on Clinton, driving ¾ of a mile to make a left turn on Narcissus Rd. Havenwood Retreat is a quarter mile up the road on the left, just as Narcissus makes a hard right turn. Call ahead for that week’s gate code. After entering the gate, stay right to the main house.
